Bangalore Apartments Culture
Since 1980s and 1990s, the real estate market in Bangalore has undergone a high rate of growth which has been basically stimulated by the capital investors from the different parts of the country. This has turned the large plots and colonial bungalows of the city into sky-scraping apartments. The first multinational corporation which got its base set up in Bangalore was Texas Instruments in the year 1985.
This establishment was followed by many other information technology companies which finally turned the City into ‘Silicon Valley of India’. India’s fourth most populous and world’s 28th most populous city Bangalore had an approximated population of 8.5 million in 2011. It was ranked among one of the rapidly growing metro cities in India after New Delhi in the decade of 1991-2001.
The name of the city was decided to be changed from Bangalore to ‘Bengaluru’ in the year 2005 by the state government of Karnataka. So, in the year 2006, the resolution for the same was passed by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike(BBMP) for the implementation of the suggested name. Nonetheless, the clearances from the Union Home Ministry has yet not been attained which has impeded this process.
